Tech Talk Agenda Ideas - December 5, 2013

CI Tech Talk
December 5th, 1:00-3:00pm
Room 001 in the 4545 building

This Tech Talk will be unconference format – a participant-driven meeting.
We’ll convene in room 001 at 1:00pm and form our agenda.
Agenda topics will be seeded from this forum.
We’ll vote on topics and assign them to rooms and times.
We’ll reconvene at the end to share highlights.

Please vote for/add topics you'd like to discuss at our Tech Talk on Dec 5th

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".
(thinking…)

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

    • InCommon Identity Week Debrief

What were the key takeaways from InCommon Identity Week (November 11-15)? In this session, folks who attended the unconference/conference will share and reflect on what they learned and how it applies to our work here at the UW.

          • Generic, FERPA-friendly, jsonp using, outh powered people finder.

We are experimenting with Elasticsearch, a document indexing system. One use is a people finder for AJAX web applications. This both maintains user's privacy settings and supports fuzzzy name matching. A demo is possible.
